Fatal Florence County, South Carolina shooting death of Dana Marie Kinlaw – Obituary

Dana Marie Kinlaw, 40, of Olanta, South Carolina, was found fatally shot inside a burning vehicle on January 22, 2026, in Effingham.

Florence County authorities arrested 19-year-old Iryanna Fleming of Pamplico and 31-year-old Daquinn Thomas of Effingham in connection with the incident. Both face charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded around 5:45 p.m. to a vehicle fire on Atlantic Road near Springbranch Road. Investigators allege that Fleming and Thomas shot Kinlaw and then set the vehicle on fire with her inside.

The victim’s body is scheduled for autopsy at the Medical University of South Carolina next week. Fleming and Thomas remain in custody at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
