Jeffrey Wright, 72, was killed in a hit-and-run crash on the North Side of Columbus, authorities confirmed. The Franklin County Coroner’s Office reported that Wright succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a vehicle.

The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. near Morse Road and Sharon Avenue when a 911 caller found Wright lying near a bus stop. Emergency personnel rushed him to OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead at 7 p.m.

Columbus police said the driver responsible fled the scene without providing assistance. Investigators have not yet identified the vehicle or the person behind the wheel and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
