Robert Morris, 50, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Jan. 19 in McHenry County, authorities confirmed. The McHenry County Coroner reported that Morris died from blunt force trauma, while toxicology results are still pending.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on the 7700 block of Howe Road near Wonder Lake. Emergency responders discovered Morris inside his car after it had left the road, crossed a field, and struck a tree.

Investigators noted that Morris was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and indicated that alcohol could have contributed to the incident. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and the Coroner’s Office continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
