The Levittown community is grieving after a devastating crash in Hicksville claimed the lives of two teenagers late Friday night, including 19-year-old Lindsey Rose Parke of Levittown. The fatal collision has left family, friends, and first responders mourning the sudden loss.
According to Nassau County police, the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on Old Country Road near Sterling Place. Investigators said a 23-year-old man driving a white 2026 BMW westbound lost control of the vehicle, crossed into opposing lanes, struck a tree, and then crashed into a nearby building.
Parke, who was a volunteer firefighter with the Levittown Fire Department’s Ladder Company 6, was remembered by her department in a heartfelt social media tribute honoring her dedication and compassion. Police also confirmed that a second 19-year-old victim, Alexa Duryea of Levittown, was killed in the same crash.
In the days following the tragedy, community members have rallied around the Parke family. A GoFundMe organized by neighbor Christine Scarry has raised more than $10,000 to help support them during this difficult time. Messages shared on the fundraiser describe Lindsey as selfless, strong, and always willing to help others.
Family members and friends remembered Parke as someone who touched many lives through her roles as a firefighter, EMT, baker, and loyal friend. Authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash as the community honors the lives lost.
