Curtis Hosea, 60, lost his life early Monday morning after being struck by a pickup truck while using a wheelchair in downtown Los Angeles, authorities confirmed. Curtis Hosea was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office following the deadly collision.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened at approximately 2 a.m. near the intersection of Hill Street and Fifth Street. Investigators said Hosea was attempting to cross Hill Street when he was hit by a northbound Ford F-150 traveling through the area.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced Hosea dead due to the severity of his injuries. Police stated that the driver of the pickup truck remained at the location following the crash and cooperated with authorities.
Officials noted that Hosea was believed to have been experiencing homelessness at the time of his death. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing.
