Lindsey Rose Parke and Alexa Duryea, both 19 and residents of Levittown, lost their lives following a devastating late-night car crash in Hicksville, according to Nassau County police. The fatal incident occurred on Friday night and has left the Levittown community in mourning.

Authorities said the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on Old Country Road near Sterling Place. A 23-year-old man driving a 2026 white BMW was traveling westbound when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, crossed into oncoming lanes, struck a tree, and then crashed into a nearby building. Parke and Duryea were pronounced dead as a result of the collision.

Parke was a volunteer firefighter with the Levittown Fire Department, Ladder Company 6, and was remembered for her dedication to helping others. The department shared a heartfelt tribute, describing her as selfless, compassionate, and deeply committed to service. Family and friends said she was known for baking treats for the firehouse, neighbors, and shelters supporting single mothers in need.

Loved ones also spoke of Parke’s passion for caring for others, noting that she was training as an EMT and was often the first to step in when someone needed help. She was remembered as creative, driven, and full of life, with dreams of traveling, spreading kindness, and making everyone around her feel valued.

Community members have organized support efforts for the Parke family, including a GoFundMe fundraiser and a Meal Train to help ease daily burdens during the grieving process. Messages shared by organizers emphasized the overwhelming loss and the community’s desire to surround the family with care and support.

Visitation services for Lindsey Rose Parke are scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Homes on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. Police have not released additional details regarding the ongoing investigation.
