Shawna Collins and Jacob Hosmer were both killed when a private business jet crashed during takeoff at Bangor International Airport in Maine on Sunday night, authorities confirmed. The aircraft, a Bombardier Challenger, overturned and caught fire as it attempted to depart in snowy winter conditions, resulting in a deadly scene on the runway.

Collins, a Houston-based event planner, was traveling for work at the time of the crash. Family members said she had spoken with her daughter earlier in the day and was preparing for an upcoming international business trip before the flight ended in tragedy.

Hosmer, identified as the pilot of the aircraft, also lost his life in the crash. His family described him as a devoted husband and father, remembering him as someone deeply committed to both his loved ones and his career in aviation.

Federal investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, including weather conditions and aircraft performance. Officials have not yet released information about any additional victims or a final determination on the cause of the accident.
