Brianna Rodriguez-Quintana, 25, was one of two women killed Monday morning in a shooting at an apartment on Shady Pine Way in Greenacres.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the second victim was 59-year-old Milvia Quintana-Placeres. Deputies responded to reports of gunfire around 7 a.m. and found one woman dead at the scene and another suffering from gunshot wounds. The injured victim was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

Investigators identified the suspect as 60-year-old Juan Estevez-Mesa, who lived in the same apartment as the victims. Authorities said the three knew each other.

After the shooting, deputies attempted to make contact with Estevez-Mesa, but he retreated inside the residence. A SWAT team was called to the scene and later determined that the suspect had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The sheriff’s office continues to review the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident.
