Joe Anthony Rodriguez, 21, was killed early Wednesday morning after a shooting on the East Side of San Antonio, according to authorities.

Police said the incident happened just after midnight in front of a home on Cardiff Avenue near Latimer Street. Investigators determined that Rodriguez became involved in an argument with another person over money, which escalated and moved into the street. During the confrontation, Rodriguez was shot in the chest.

After the shooting, the suspect reportedly ran back inside the residence. Rodriguez and his girlfriend drove to another location to seek help, and he was later transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. Officers surrounded the home following the incident and brought multiple people in for questioning. The investigation remains ongoing, and it was unclear whether any arrests had been made.
