Fatal Harwood shooting deaths of Sharon Ann Waldow and Mark Edward Waldow – Obituary

Sharon Ann Waldow, 78, and Mark Edward Waldow, 62, were found shot to death inside their Harwood, Maryland home during a welfare check conducted by Anne Arundel County police.

Officers were called to the residence in the 100 block of Harwood Road around 1:40 p.m. on January 22, 2026, after someone familiar with the couple became concerned when they had not been seen or heard from for several days. Upon entering the home, police discovered Sharon Waldow deceased on the main level and Mark Waldow deceased on a lower level, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division took over the case, and evidence technicians processed the scene, where a firearm was located. Authorities said the incident appears to be domestic-related and emphasized there is no threat to the surrounding community.

The bodies were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsies. Investigators have not released additional details, and the case remains under active investigation.
