Todd Hunes Jr., 19, was struck and killed Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run incident along North Point Boulevard in the Sparrows Point area of Baltimore County.

Police said the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. when Hunes was walking southbound and was hit from behind by a pickup truck that fled the scene. Surveillance video reviewed by a nearby business owner showed the vehicle leaving the area without stopping.

Later that day, Baltimore County police located and stopped the suspect vehicle, announcing an arrest in connection with the case. Authorities said charges against the driver are pending.

Residents in the area expressed frustration, citing ongoing speeding problems along North Point Boulevard, which has seen increased traffic due to nearby development. Community members also noted that snowbanks and the lack of sidewalks may have forced pedestrians into the roadway.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police continue to ask anyone with information to contact authorities.
