Henry L. Crittington, 19, and Terrell Thomas, 18, were killed in a shooting at the Hugine Suites student living complex on the campus of South Carolina State University on February 12. Crittington succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while Thomas was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

A third individual was also shot, and their condition has not been released. School officials confirmed that Crittington and Thomas were not students, though the third person involved is enrolled at the university. Authorities have not announced any arrests or the circumstances leading to the shooting.

The campus was placed on lockdown following the incident, which lifted by 5 a.m. on February 13. All classes for the day were canceled as officials continued their investigation.
