Fatal Long Beach, California motorcycle crash death of Thomas Arlotta – Obituary
County officials have confirmed the identity of a motorcyclist who lost his life following a collision in Long Beach. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Thomas Arlotta, 30.
The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Anaheim Street and Linden Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department. When officers arrived, they found Arlotta lying on the sidewalk. Both the other driver involved and officers at the scene attempted to help before Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported him to a nearby hospital. Despite those efforts, he later died from his injuries.
Investigators determined that Arlotta had been riding east on Anaheim Street when he entered the intersection and struck a 2020 vehicle manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. The car had been turning left onto Linden Avenue from the opposite direction. The force of the impact threw Arlotta from his motorcycle, causing critical injuries.
Police said the driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators. Authorities are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident in Long Beach to contact investigators or submit anonymous information through Crime Stoppers.
