Fatal Forestville farm accident death of Wilson Duarte Martinez – Obituary

Wilson Duarte Martinez, 50, of the Town of Forestville, died following a farm accident on February 12, according to the Door County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said Martinez was working at a property on Old Elm Road when a large bale grabber attachment became detached from a front-end loader and fell onto him.

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. at 7900 Old Elm Road. Emergency responders from the Southern Door Fire Department, Southern Door Emergency Medical Responders, Door County Emergency Services, and the Door County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene.

An autopsy was performed on February 13 at the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office, though results were still pending at the time of the report. The Door County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident remains ongoing.
