Fatal Grant County, Indiana car crash death of Alexander McGuin – Obituary

Authorities in Grant County are investigating a deadly single-vehicle collision that claimed the lives of three young people and seriously injured another on Monday afternoon.

According to the Indiana State Police, the crash happened shortly after 12:15 p.m. along County Road 600 South near County Road 1150 East. Emergency crews arrived to find a badly wrecked 2002 Chevrolet Malibu off the road and against a tree.

Police said the car had been traveling east when the driver, 23-year-old Alexander McGuin of Gas City, lost control and left the roadway before striking the tree.

McGuin was pronounced dead at the scene along with two passengers, identified as 21-year-old James Clark and 19-year-old Gracelynn Daniels, according to the Grant County Coroner’s Office.

A fourth person who was inside the vehicle survived and was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials indicated the survivor’s injuries were serious but not expected to be fatal.
