Fatal Hardin County, Kentucky car crash death of Drew Cookenmaster – Obituary
A man from Kentucky lost his life Monday morning after his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 65 in Hardin County.
According to the Kentucky State Police, the accident took place at approximately 9:46 a.m. along the northbound lanes near the 103-mile marker, close to Lebanon Junction.
Investigators said traffic on the interstate had already slowed due to an earlier crash near the 106-mile marker. During that time, a blue Hyundai operated by 29-year-old Drew Cookenmaster of Hodgenville struck the back of a semi-truck that was traveling north.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, and the Hardin County Coroner declared Cookenmaster dead at the location of the collision.
Authorities closed the northbound lanes near the Joe Prather exit for several hours while crews conducted their investigation and cleared the roadway.
Officials stated that the crash remains under investigation as they continue working to determine all contributing factors.
