Fatal Wake County shooting death of Jennifer Sanchez Solis – Obituary

Jennifer Sanchez Solis, 19, was killed Thursday morning in a shooting on Avery Street in Wake County. Deputies responding to the 3000 block of Avery Street around 11 a.m. discovered Solis suffering from a gunshot wound, and she later succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities reported that a 28-year-old man, Ricardo Gonzalez Maldonado, has been arrested in Georgia in connection with the shooting. Maldonado, who was taken into custody by the Georgia State Patrol around 9 p.m., has been charged with first-degree murder. Investigators confirmed that Solis and Maldonado were acquainted.
