A 38-year-old man lost his life early Monday morning following a wrong-way collision in Dallas. Authorities confirmed that Michael Francis Cochlin was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly before 3 a.m., according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Investigators reported that the crash happened at approximately 2:10 a.m. along the tollway near Royal Lane. Officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety said Cochlin had been driving a Hyundai Tucson in the wrong direction, heading north in lanes designated for southbound traffic.

His vehicle slammed head-on into a Land Rover Velar carrying multiple occupants. Emergency responders transported the individuals inside the Land Rover to nearby medical facilities with severe injuries.

As of Thursday, officials had not released further updates regarding the conditions of the injured victims. The crash remains under investigation in Dallas.
