Nicholas Wyly, 33, of Broomfield, Colorado, has been identified as the man who lost his life in a high-speed crash early Monday morning in the southern Nebraska Panhandle. The Nebraska State Patrol reported that Wyly had been involved in two separate police pursuits, the first in central Nebraska and the second in the Panhandle, where he reached speeds up to 140 miles per hour.

Authorities say that shortly after the second chase began, Wyly’s vehicle, a Lexus, crashed just off I-80 near mile marker 102. The car landed roughly 75 yards into a nearby field, and Wyly was ejected from the vehicle. Officials confirmed his death on Wednesday, providing clarity to the tragic events surrounding the accident.
