Authorities in Asheville reported that a woman is facing charges in connection with a motorcycle collision that claimed the life of 27-year-old Tylor Russell Holzhauser.

Police stated that Jennifer Louise Saylor, 56, has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle along with unsafe movement following the incident.

Emergency crews were called to the junction of New Leicester Highway and Eliada Home Road at approximately 4:23 p.m. on February 13 after receiving reports of a crash involving injuries.

Investigators said Holzhauser had been riding a 2024 Kawasaki ER650 southbound on New Leicester Highway and was nearing the intersection when his motorcycle collided with a 2013 Toyota Prius driven by Saylor. According to officers, Holzhauser was attempting to make a left turn onto Eliada Home Road at the time of the crash.

The impact threw Holzhauser from the motorcycle, and he died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Officials added that the roadway remained closed for more than an hour while police examined the scene and gathered evidence.
