James Ricks dies in fatal Summerville pedestrian crash

Fatal Summerville, South Carolina pedestrian crash death of James Ricks – Obituary

Officials have confirmed that a 59-year-old resident of Summerville lost his life after being struck by a vehicle Monday evening. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as James Ricks.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 6:37 p.m. on February 16 along Jedburg Road. Investigators said Ricks had been standing on the roadway when a westbound vehicle hit him.

He died from injuries sustained in the collision.

Authorities stated that the circumstances surrounding the crash are still being examined by both the Highway Patrol and the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office.
