Stephen Walters, 67, passed away after being struck by a vehicle near the Las Vegas Strip earlier this month. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed Walters was hit while crossing Sands Avenue near Paradise Road on February 18.

The crash involved a 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz, which failed to yield to Walters even though the pedestrian signal had turned green. Walters was rushed to Sunrise Hospital with serious injuries, where he later died on February 24, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

This incident marks the 23rd traffic-related fatality reported in the LVMPD’s area so far this year, highlighting ongoing concerns about pedestrian safety in the city.
