Fatal Spearfish, South Dakota single-vehicle crash death of Mark Alan Anderson – Obituary

Authorities have identified the man who died in a crash near Spearfish, South Dakota, on Saturday evening as 65-year-old Mark Alan Anderson of Spearfish.

According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Anderson was driving a 2012 Toyota Highlander when he took exit 10 off Interstate 90. His vehicle crossed US 85, entered the west ditch, went over a fence, and finally overturned in the Brook View Road ditch, coming to rest on its roof. Anderson was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

Emergency responders transported Anderson to Spearfish Monument Health, where he was pronounced dead. Preliminary reports indicate that he may not have been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
