Fatal Muskegon Heights, Michigan shooting death of Robert Fletcher Jr. – Obituary

Robert Fletcher Jr., 33, was killed in a shooting on March 3 in Muskegon Heights.

Police responded to South Getty Street near Hovey Avenue after reports of gunfire and discovered Fletcher with severe gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

At the same time, a second shooting occurred nearby at Ray Street and Ivory Avenue, leaving another man injured.

This was the third shooting in Muskegon Heights in one week, prompting local leaders to organize a town hall on March 5. The meeting is set for Muskegon Heights City Hall, with a possible move to the high school auditorium to accommodate residents, running from 4 to 7 p.m., to address community safety concerns.
