Robert Francis dies in fatal Downtown Los Angeles, California pedestrian crash

Fatal Downtown Los Angeles, California pedestrian crash death of Robert Francis – Obituary

Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was killed early Thursday morning in a suspected DUI crash in downtown Los Angeles as 37-year-old Robert Francis.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred around 2:10 a.m. at the intersection of Ninth Street and Towne Avenue. Francis was walking south on Ninth Street when a red Nissan Kicks, driven by Orlando Larios, entered the westbound lanes while traveling eastbound and struck him. The vehicle also collided with another car during the incident.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced Francis dead at the scene from blunt traumatic injuries.

Police determined that Larios was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and arrested him on suspicion of felony DUI. The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
