Fatal Barnes County car crash death of Alliana Villaneuva – Obituary
Authorities have identified the woman who lost her life in a crash east of Valley City in Barnes County early Sunday morning.
According to the North Dakota State Patrol, the victim was 26-year-old Alliana Villaneuva of Jamestown. The crash happened shortly after 4 a.m. on March 8 near mile marker 298 on Interstate 94.
Investigators said Villaneuva was driving a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee east in the westbound lanes of the interstate when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a bridge support.
Officials reported that Villaneuva was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. She suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities also noted that the weather was clear and the roadway conditions were good when the incident occurred. The North Dakota State Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
