Authorities have identified the man who died in a crash involving a semi-truck on the 215 Beltway in northwest Las Vegas as 44-year-old Qaadir Isaam Amin II of North Las Vegas.
Nevada State Police responded to the collision at approximately 5:55 a.m. on March 4 on southbound Interstate 215 near the Ann Road off-ramp. The crash involved a white 2014 Chrysler 300 sedan and a commercial semi-truck.
Investigators reported that Amin was traveling at a high rate of speed and was not wearing a seatbelt when he lost control of his vehicle. Officials said he was unable to stop or avoid vehicles that were already stopped ahead of him, leading to the collision.
Amin was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that the incident remains part of an ongoing investigation by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol.
State police also noted that the crash is among several fatal incidents investigated in Nevada so far this year.
