Authorities have identified the man who died following a crash in Colorado Springs as Michael Davis, a 67-year-old who later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the incident occurred on Feb. 26 between Crestone Lane and Motor World Parkway. Investigators said Davis was struck by his own vehicle after it began rolling down a hill.
Emergency responders transported Davis to a nearby hospital for treatment, but he later died as a result of the injuries he suffered.
The department’s Major Crash Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police noted that early details about the crash were limited due to the complexity of the scene and initial reports.
Officials also reported that Davis’ death marks the seventh traffic-related fatality recorded in Colorado Springs so far this year. At the same point last year, the city had recorded two traffic deaths.
