Fatal Roanoke, Virginia shooting death of Evers Lamar Green – Obituary

A Roanoke man who suffered severe gunshot wounds Sunday night has died, according to authorities.

Police said 37-year-old Evers Lamar Green, a resident of Roanoke, was discovered inside a vehicle with life-threatening gunshot injuries. Officers were called to the 1000 block of Norfolk Avenue SW at about 9:46 p.m. on March 8, 2026.

 

Green was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

 

Investigators have not released any details about possible suspects, and no arrests have been announced so far.

 

Early findings from the investigation indicate that the shooting appears to have been a targeted incident.
