A teenage girl lost her life Tuesday morning after being struck by two vehicles while attempting to cross a road in Louisville.
Authorities identified the victim as 16-year-old Janiah Brown. Louisville Metro Police reported that officers responded just before 6:55 a.m. to the intersection of Cane Run Road and Teakwood Circle in the St. Denis neighborhood, where the accident occurred.
Investigators said Brown was crossing Cane Run Road when she was hit by a southbound SUV and a passenger vehicle. A semi-truck in the area was later determined not to have struck her. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene and was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the incident.
The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic crash.
