Fatal Oakland shooting death of Latetia Bobo – Obituary

OAKLAND, CA — Latetia Bobo, 33, was one of two people killed during a shooting early Saturday morning at EZ’s Lounge on 14th Street in Oakland, according to police. Authorities said multiple shots were fired during an after-hours gathering at the venue, leaving several people wounded and two victims dead.

 

Police also identified the second victim as 25-year-old Markise Martin. In addition to the two fatalities, five other individuals were struck by gunfire during the incident and received medical treatment for their injuries.

 

City officials said the shooting happened during an after-hours event that allegedly did not have the proper permits to operate into the early morning hours. Oakland City Councilmember Carroll Fife stated that city leaders are seeking accountability for businesses hosting unlicensed events.

 

Friends and community members gathered outside the lounge following the tragedy, placing candles in remembrance of those who lost their lives. Authorities continue to investigate the shooting and have not yet released details about any suspects.
