Fatal Brandon shooting death of Travon Jackson – Obituary

BRANDON, FL — Travon Jackson, 30, was killed Monday evening at an apartment on Lake Chapman Drive in Brandon after an altercation with the residents, authorities said. Deputies responding to a disturbance found Jackson with an apparent gunshot wound, and he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office identified James Sidney Llanos, 47, and his wife, Lizeina Marie Cepeda, 39, as suspects. The couple, who had been subletting their apartment to Jackson, reportedly entered the unit to evict him, leading to a confrontation during which Llanos shot Jackson.

Llanos faces first-degree murder charges while engaged in burglary and armed burglary of a dwelling with assault or battery. Cepeda is charged with first-degree murder while engaged in burglary and burglary of an occupied dwelling with assault or battery. Sheriff Chad Chronister described the incident as a “senseless act of violence” and said detectives are continuing their investigation.

Authorities confirmed the investigation is ongoing and promised to provide updates as new information becomes available.
