EDINBURG, TX — Valente Trevino, 41, was among six people shot during a deadly incident Saturday evening on State Highway 107 in rural Edinburg, authorities reported. The shooting reportedly began as a dispute between neighbors and left three people dead at the scene.
The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office identified the other victims who died as 36-year-old Eliazar Gabriel Martinez, 33-year-old Jacklyn Marie Ortiz, and 34-year-old Juan Luis Guzman, who succumbed to injuries after being hospitalized. Two additional victims, 35-year-old Marco Antonio Quintero and 25-year-old Datrell Dezman Fleming, remain in critical condition.
Investigators collected firearms, shell casings, and ammunition from the scene as part of an ongoing investigation. Authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the dispute that led to this fatal shooting.
