A teenage driver from Barrington lost his life in a single-vehicle crash Monday morning in Deer Park, Illinois.

Authorities said the victim, 17-year-old Maximilian Sahinoglu, was involved in the accident shortly before 8 a.m. along Ela Road, just north of Long Grove Road.

According to police, Sahinoglu was driving a BMW southbound when the vehicle, reportedly traveling at a high speed, went out of control. The car veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Sahinoglu was pronounced dead there.

Officials stated that the circumstances leading to the crash are still being examined as the investigation continues.
