Authorities have confirmed that Travis Brissell, a 35-year-old resident of Mansfield, died following a single-vehicle crash that occurred on March 9 in Troy Township.
According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, the incident took place at approximately 10:14 p.m. along Gass Road, between Lexington Ontario Road and Ohio 97. Brissell was driving a 2019 Ford Mustang southbound when he lost control of the vehicle.
Investigators reported that the car crossed the center line, veered off the left side of the roadway, and collided with multiple trees. After the impact, the vehicle came to a stop and was quickly engulfed in flames.
Brissell was pronounced dead as a result of the crash. Officials later identified him through the Richland County Coroner’s Office.
He was a graduate of Lexington High School, class of 2009, and went on to study at the University of Toledo, where he earned a degree in medical and biological chemistry along with a minor in pharmaceutical sciences. He later built a long-standing career with Axalta Coating Systems, working for over a decade as an operations manager and earning recognition for his professionalism and leadership.
Visitation services are scheduled for Friday, March 20, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Homes. A memorial service will follow on Saturday, March 21, at 11 a.m., with celebrant Dave Roberts officiating.
