Authorities have confirmed that a woman previously reported missing has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts. The victim, 47-year-old Jill Kloppenburg, was discovered buried beneath a garage floor.

Investigators revealed that Kloppenburg’s remains were located at a residence on Audrey Avenue after law enforcement executed a search warrant on March 15. The discovery followed a tip received by Nashua, New Hampshire police on March 10, in which a caller alleged that a man had confessed to killing a woman named Jill and hiding her body at his home.

According to officials, the suspect, 40-year-old Shawn Sullivan of Tyngsborough, is accused of shooting Kloppenburg around January 2025 and concealing her remains under the garage floor. Preliminary findings from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner indicate that she died from a gunshot wound.

Sullivan was taken into custody and appeared in Lowell District Court, where he was charged with murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, and improper disposal of human remains. He has been ordered held without bail.

The case remains under investigation, with prosecutors scheduled to return to court on April 17, 2026.
