Fatal Mason car crash death of John Delaney – Obituary

Authorities have identified 86-year-old John Delaney of Townsend, Massachusetts, as the man who died following a single-vehicle accident in Mason, New Hampshire. Delaney was a longtime antiques dealer and founder of Delaney Antique Clocks.

The crash occurred around 12:41 p.m. on Barrett Hill Road when Delaney’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Emergency responders transported him by ambulance to a landing zone in Greenville, and he was then flown by MedFlight helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, where he died on March 12, the day after the accident.

Investigators are still examining what caused Delaney to leave the road and the precise circumstances of his death.

Delaney grew up in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, graduating from Fitchburg High School and Fitchburg State University. Before beginning his antiques business in 1976, he worked as a teacher, including as a math teacher at Leominster High School. He is survived by his wife Barbara, two children, and five grandchildren.
