Fatal Lady’s Island crash death of Hailee Shackelfurd – Obituary

Beaufort County authorities have identified Hailee Shackelfurd, 31, as the passenger who died in a vehicle accident on Lady’s Island earlier this week.

The crash occurred around 12:45 p.m. Monday when the 2004 Toyota pickup she was riding in veered off the right side of Brickyard Point Road South near Fiddler Drive, flipped, and struck a tree, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The driver of the truck was transported to a local hospital with injuries, while Shackelfurd succumbed to her injuries at the scene. This incident marks the seventh traffic fatality in Beaufort County for 2026. Funeral arrangements for Shackelfurd have not yet been announced.
