Fatal South Fulton shooting death of Jamauri Smarr and Jeremiah Carter – Obituary

Two teenagers, Jamauri Smarr, 16, and Jeremiah Carter, 14, were killed Tuesday night in a shooting in the Cooks Landing subdivision of South Fulton. Police responded to reports near the 4200 block of Fortune Point just before 8:30 p.m. and found both teens suffering from gunshot wounds. They were rushed to a nearby hospital but did not survive.

 

Investigators focused on a white sedan seen at the scene, which was towed as part of the ongoing inquiry. Authorities have not disclosed a motive, and it remains unclear whether the teenagers lived in the immediate area.

 

South Fulton Mayor Carmalitha Gumbs expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, emphasizing the city’s commitment to public safety and promising that law enforcement is working to identify and apprehend the shooter. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to aid the investigation.
