Fatal Koreatown hit-and-run death of Kum Soon Lee-Kim – Obituary

Kum Soon Lee-Kim, 73, was fatally struck while riding her bicycle on Friday morning in Koreatown, Los Angeles. The collision occurred around 6:40 a.m. as a white Ram truck traveling east on Olympic Boulevard turned south onto Vermont Avenue. Lee-Kim was in the crosswalk when she was hit, and the driver fled the scene without providing aid.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported Lee-Kim to a hospital, where she later died from blunt trauma. Authorities recovered the suspect’s vehicle near the crash site and noted that drug use may have been a factor. The Los Angeles Police Department is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the driver.p
