Fatal North Platte car crash death of Richard Nuss – Obituary

Richard Nuss, 90, of Scottsbluff, was killed Thursday morning in a crash on Interstate 80 near North Platte, Nebraska. Nuss was driving his Jeep eastbound near mile marker 175 when a minivan, driven by 49-year-old Jacqueline Hoggatt of California, struck his vehicle from behind, causing the Jeep to roll into the south ditch.

Emergency responders pronounced Nuss dead at the scene. Hoggatt was arrested on a charge of Motor Vehicle Homicide while Driving Under the Influence and held on a $500,000 bond. Investigators noted that marijuana products were found in her vehicle, and if convicted, she could face up to 20 years in prison.
