Fatal Jones County, Mississippi car crash death of Amani M. Collins – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed the identity of a teenager who lost her life in a multi-vehicle accident in Jones County.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Amani M. Collins of Waynesboro was driving a Ford Mustang eastbound on Highway 84 when the vehicle struck an animal. Following the impact, the car collided with a Nissan Altima that was also heading in the same direction.

Collins sustained severe injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the Jones County Coroner’s Office.

Officials reported that the driver of the Nissan Altima was not hurt in the incident.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
