Fatal San Diego, California motorcycle crash death of Alexander Charmoli – Obituary
Authorities have released the identities of four individuals who lost their lives in separate traffic incidents across the San Diego area this week.
The most recent tragedy occurred Thursday afternoon when 18-year-old Alexander Charmoli of Apache Junction, Arizona, was riding a motorcycle southbound on Interstate 805 near Eastgate Mall in University City. Officials say he collided with another vehicle and was rushed to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where he later died from his injuries.
Earlier in the week, a crash in Coronado claimed the life of 78-year-old James Berta. According to reports, Berta was riding his bicycle when he was struck by an SUV at the intersection of State Route 75 and Tulagi Road on Tuesday afternoon. He died at the scene.
On Monday morning, 78-year-old Antonio Boccia was fatally injured in La Mesa after being hit by a vehicle along the 10000 block of Challenge Boulevard. Emergency responders transported him to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
In a separate incident on Sunday evening, 33-year-old Guillermo Hernandez of Valley Center died after his pickup truck crossed into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision. The crash also claimed the life of 75-year-old Grace Parsons of Encinitas, who was a passenger in the other vehicle involved.
Officials continue to investigate each of the incidents.
