Fatal Boynton Beach, Florida helicopter crash death of Alejandro Carrasco – Obituary

Authorities in Boynton Beach have confirmed the identities of two individuals who lost their lives when a helicopter went down and struck a warehouse on Monday afternoon. One of the victims was 28-year-old Alejandro Carrasco from West Palm Beach, along with 52-year-old Bryan Menna of Michigan.

Moments before the crash, a radio transmission captured concern from the aircraft, indicating trouble and an attempt to land in a nearby field.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the Robinson R44 helicopter crashed at approximately 12:30 p.m., killing both occupants. Records show the aircraft was registered to Palm Beach Helicopters, a flight training organization based at Lantana Airport. Officials stated that Carrasco was serving as the flight instructor at the time.

A witness, Rhett Savidge, described seeing the helicopter descending rapidly while he was stopped nearby, saying it appeared as though the aircraft was spiraling downward uncontrollably.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board have both launched investigations into the incident, with the NTSB taking the lead. Investigators are expected to examine key factors including the pilot’s condition, the aircraft’s mechanical status, and environmental conditions at the time of the crash.

As part of the inquiry, officials will review radio communications, radar tracking information, and weather data. They will also conduct a review of the pilot’s recent activities in the 72 hours leading up to the crash to determine if any contributing factors affected flight safety.

A preliminary report from investigators is expected to be released within the next month.
