Fatal New Iberia pedestrian death of Katlin Khayankane – Obituary

Katlin Khayankane, 24, of New Iberia, Louisiana, was killed Saturday morning after being struck by a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 90 Frontage Road. Louisiana State Police Troop I opened an investigation into the deadly incident in Iberia Parish just before 5 a.m. on March 21.

The victim was walking in the westbound lane near Grand Prairie Road when a 2014 Ford F-150 traveling west hit her. Khayankane was wearing dark clothing at the time and suffered severe injuries, leading authorities to pronounce her dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was unharmed, and investigators have reported no suspicion of impairment. Standard toxicology tests were collected as part of the ongoing investigation. Louisiana State Police Troop I continues to probe the circumstances surrounding the tragic collision.
