**Fatal Portsmouth, N.H. deaths of Brittany and Benson Weston – Obituary
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – Authorities have identified Trent Weston, 37, as the individual believed to have killed his wife, Brittany Weston, also 37, and their 8-year-old son, Benson, before being fatally shot by police on Thursday morning on the I-95 Piscataqua River Bridge, which connects New Hampshire and Maine.
New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella confirmed that evidence points to Trent Weston as the perpetrator in the deaths of his wife Brittany and their young son Benson.
Trent Weston reportedly called 911 just after 2 a.m. on Thursday, claiming that his wife had died following a heated argument. When police arrived at the couple’s apartment on Monadnock Street in Troy, New Hampshire, they found Brittany Weston deceased.
Later, approximately 100 miles away, police confronted Trent Weston on the Piscataqua River Bridge. After hours of negotiations that closed the bridge to traffic, Weston allegedly raised a firearm, prompting officers to open fire. Weston fell from the bridge, and his body was later retrieved from the water.
Authorities also discovered Benson Weston dead inside the family’s vehicle. An autopsy revealed that the child had died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The autopsy on Trent Weston showed that he too died from multiple gunshot wounds. Police have not yet disclosed a possible motive, and the investigation is still ongoing.
