Cody Sloat dies in fatal Grandview motorcycle crash
Fatal Grandview motorcycle crash death of Cody Sloat – Obituary
A motorcycle crash early Friday in Grandview resulted in the deaths of Cody Sloat and his passenger, Andrea Licata. The accident occurred on southbound Interstate 49 near East 140th Street, as reported by Capt. Ryan Sharp of the Grandview Police Department. Both victims, residents of Kansas City, succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The Quaff Bar & Grill, where Sloat was a bartender and Licata worked as a doorman, expressed deep sorrow over the loss in a Facebook post. They described the accident as “tragic and horrific” and urged people to support one another and cherish their loved ones.
According to initial investigations, Sloat and Licata were maneuvering through a construction zone when they lost control of the motorcycle. Neither rider appeared to be wearing a helmet. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
