Utah Highway Patrol has identified Sherrie Ivie, 69, from Grantsville, as the victim in a fatal crash that happened earlier this week on I-80 in Tooele County. The accident, which took place near mile post 99 on Tuesday afternoon, caused significant traffic delays for several hours.
The collision involved Ivie’s maroon Ford Explorer, which crossed the center line and struck a green Ford F-150 head-on. Ivie suffered fatal injuries, while the driver of the Ford F-150, a 61-year-old man, was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. The man’s identity has not been released, and his current condition is unknown.
