Raven Francis dies in fatal Mid-City shooting
Fatal Mid-City shooting death of Raven Francis – Obituary
Raven Francis, aged 29, was fatally shot early Sunday morning in Mid-City. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified Francis on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at around 2:45 a.m. when a confrontation between two groups at a business on South Carrollton Avenue escalated. An unknown assailant fired at one group, prompting their vehicle to crash into a fire hydrant at Baudin and South Solomon streets.
Emergency responders attended to four other individuals injured in the shooting and car crash.
Francis, the fifth victim, was transported to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
On Facebook, a woman claiming to be Francis’ cousin shared her sorrow, saying she constantly thinks about Francis.
Another friend expressed heartbreak over her death and lamented the loss of someone he described as “one of the best people on earth” and a devoted mother.
