Fatal Danbury, WI crash death of Layne W. Leitner – Obituary
Layne W. Leitner, 25, from Bloomington, and Kyle R. Orloske, 34, from White Bear Lake, were killed in a tragic vehicle accident in Danbury, Wisconsin over the holiday weekend. The incident was reported by OnStar early Saturday morning. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered a single vehicle with three occupants.
According to a statement from the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place in the 28000 block of East Bass Lake Road, situated just south of Danbury near the Minnesota-Wisconsin border. Both Leitner, the driver, and Orloske, the front-seat passenger, were declared dead at the site.
The third person in the vehicle, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital for treatment. There has been no update on their condition.
Initial reports suggest that the vehicle veered off the narrow road and traveled approximately 120 feet before crashing into a tree shortly after 2 a.m. Authorities suspect that alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is currently reconstructing the accident as part of an ongoing investigation.
